A Mary C Concert Series: Garfield Moore - From Baroque to Broadway

A cellist extraordinaire, has been compared to the monumental Pablo Casals and Rostropovitch in the depth and richness of his tone.  He has graced stages in New York, tours around the country, given live solo broadcasts for New York Public Radio, often giving world premiere performances of works for cello written for him.  He was Principal Cellist for the Pacific Philharmonic and Santa Cruz Symphony, the Alvin Ailey Ballet, and many other opera and concert societies playing not only classical works, but modern 21st century compositions as well as Duke Ellington and Charlie Parker, explosive Spanish dances and old standards.  There is always something for everyone in a Moore program.

Tickets: Non-Members $20/Members $15/Students $5

A Mary C Concert Series: The Young Soloists - Concert celebrating 5-Year Anniversary

Classically trained vocal, piano, and instrumental students have amazed our audiences with their talent and poise on stage.  This annual concert is a formal event in the tradition of academic music recitals, preparing these students to continue their pursuit of art song, opera, musical theater, jazz, orchestral solos, and piano performance.  Young soloists have ranged from age 9 to 21 with singers, pianists, and instrumentalists from all across the Gulf Coast.

For more information on auditions for this concert, please contact co-directors [email protected] and [email protected].

Tickets: $10 **All proceeds will benefit a local non-profit organization
