Becky’s Kitchen at The Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center will be offering summer Jr. Chef Camps for young food enthusiasts ages 7-14. In addition to preparing a varied menu each week, the Jr. Chefs will be taught kitchen safety, knife skills (age appropriate), a variety of food preparation techniques, table setting and service, dining etiquette, and proper cleaning of the kitchen. Parents are invited to dine with students the last day (Friday) of each session with a reservation and a lunch fee of $5.00 per guest (max of 2 guests). All camps include a 9- 12 PM session and 1- 4 PM session for each.

Jr. Chef: Fundamentals of Pastry – Morning Camp – June 1st – 5th (Ages 7-14)
The Jr. Chefs will learn many basic techniques that go into the world of pastry including caramelizing sugar, creating custards, and making homemade whipped cream. To learn each skill, we will be spending the week creating all of the toppings and sauces, along with homemade ice cream, for an ice cream sundae party on Friday to share with family.
6/1: Candy Toppings- Toffee, Candied Nuts, Edible Cookie Dough
6/2: Ice Cream Bases- Flavors such as vanilla and chocolate
6/3: Ice Cream Cones & Bowls
6/4: Sauces- Caramel, Magic Chocolate Shell, Berry Compote
6/5: Ice Cream Sundae Showcase! – Whipped Cream
