The Legends, Myths and Celebrations of the Day of the Dead; A New North American Celebration
Pre-Columbian (Maya) and European (Samhain) myths and traditions mix and create a whimsical, little known collage of colorful and tasty events that now are becoming the latest American Celebration. Coincides with Halloween which was a Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter; the day that is about halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice.
*Exhibitions will begin at 5:30pm. Lectures will begin at 6:30pm.
