Poetry Cafe

If you enjoy reading poetry and want to truly appreciate and feel a connection to your favorite poet, sharing and writing poetry of your own in this unique workshop-style class for both beginners and experienced writers.

At heart this is a workshop where students craft their own poetry and work together to refine their drafts into a finished poem. Each day ends with a fun writing prompt and begins with a short lesson before workshop. But the real learning happens in between classes when the students take what they have learned and create a poem to workshop the next week.

At the end of the workshop you will have a small collection of your own original poetry and will have the option to read at a local open mic night and perform the poems you have written.
